Madrid – What does a city with over 3 million inhabitants have in common with another city inhabited by 100,000 people? A joint exhibition project, aimed at conquering the markets of North Africa and the Middle East. Mac Fruit Attraction, officially presented at the last edition of Macfrut in Rimini, is an agreement made between Cesena Fiera and Feira de Madrid to set up a global network in order to internationalise the fruit and vegetable sector. It was also presented on Wednesday 28 October in the capital city of Spain, with the participation of the management of Cesena Fiera, including Renzo Piraccini and Luigi Bianchi, who were satisfied with the numbers achieved by the recent successful edition of the event dedicated to the fruit and vegetable sector.

“This agreement brings together the two major global producers of fruit and vegetables, who play a leading role in technology applied to production, packing and packaging," says Renzo Piraccini, President of Cesena Fiera. "Mac Fruit Attraction is a driving force for companies that plan to enter strategic and emerging markets in regions such as the Persian Gulf and North Africa”.

The first event is scheduled to take place in Cairo from 4 to 7 May 2016 as part of the Food Africa initiative. "Egypt, an influential region characterised by a particularly active and dynamic production and import-export of fruit and vegetables, was not chosen by chance", Piraccini adds. "Until now, Italian companies have focused on exporting apples, however, in the near future, it is likely that the range of Italian products will be expanded starting with kiwifruits."
