A visit from Colombia to learn more about the fruit and vegetable district of Romagna

Cesena – A visit from Colombia to learn more about the fruit and vegetable district of Romagna. A few days ago, the Colombian ambassador in Italy, Juan Sebastiàn Betancur Escobar and the Minister Counsellor and Sales Representative of the Embassy, Juan Carlos Sarmiento, were able to experience in person one of Italy’s most dynamic districts by visiting several cutting-edge companies in terms of horticulture innovation. In the last year, Italian companies have increased their investments in Colombia, with a +29.5% increase in volume compared to 2013.

This meeting was also an opportunity to introduce the 2016 edition of Macfrut, focused especially on South American countries, which, for many years, have been in the spotlight at the event organised by Cesena Fiera. The Colombian delegation was accompanied by Valentina Piraccini, head of the International Office of Macfrut.

The Ambassador and Minister Counsellor also visited the town of Cesena, where they had the chance to take in the historical and cultural sights of the town once ruled by the Malatesta family, welcomed by the councillor of the Municipality, Christian Castorri.
