Macfrut, increasingly international: Mexico will also attend the 2016 edition

Cesena – Macfrut’s internationalisation process is proceeding at a fast pace, so much that it is increasingly becoming a leader in the Americas. After the Dominican Republic confirmed its participation in the event, Mexico has now also joined in, whereas Peru is expected to confirm around mid-April.

The news of Mexico's participation came in the last few days during Cesena Fiera’s trade mission, which also involved several companies active in the fruit and vegetable sector, in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco. The mission was organised as part of the second Italian-Latin American forum for small and medium-sized companies in collaboration with IILA (the Italian-Latin American Institute) and Amexid (the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs).

This mission involved visits to major producers of avocados and berries, the sectors in which this state stands out throughout North America. A group of Mexican companies has confirmed - many of which for the first time – their participation as exhibitors in Macfrut 2016 at Rimini (14-16 September).

Moreover, on the occasion of the trade fair, a Mexican trade mission will pay a visit to packaging companies and factories in the Emilia-Romagna region. Over the next few days, the delegation will move to the states of Guanajuato and Zacatecas, where meetings with institutions and opinion leaders in the sector will be held.

Macfrut is set to conquer the Americas, and especially Peru, which will be the next stage of the international mission of the Italian fruit and vegetable event, scheduled for 18 - 22 April.

This initiative is part of Macfrut's internationalisation project in Latin America, to be continued with a mission in Peru from 18 to 22 April.
