Macfrut 2016 to be presented in Warsaw at the bilateral Italy-Poland Forum

Cesena – Setting up an international alliance between Italy and Poland aimed at improving efficiency and innovation in the supply chain of apples and increasing exports in international markets. This will be the goal of the bilateral Forum jointly organised by Macfrut and UniCredit, to be held on Wednesday 6 April 2016 in Warsaw. Italian and Polish companies representing all segments of the industry will be attending this event, thus confirming the fact that Macfrut is increasingly becoming a supply chain trade fair.

Poland is the leading producer of apples in Europe (25% of the total production), whereas Italy is the second producer in Europe (21%). These two countries, despite being competitors, have a common interest: to increase exports outside of Europe in order to avoid surpluses in the EU market.

This forum will also be a great opportunity to establish business relationships and get up-to-date on the current international situation as regards this important product.

In fact, the CSO (Centro Servizi Ortofrutticoli) of Ferrara will introduce a study on the production and consumption of apples in Europe.

With this initiative, Macfrut wishes not only to introduce the next edition of the trade fair but also to become an occasion for meetings and discussions with the aim to promote innovation and internationalisation.

The road show has been organised in close collaboration with UniCredit, one of the major banking groups in Eastern Europe, which, for the second year in a row, is the strategic partner of Macfrut supporting the internationalisation process of this trade fair.
