Macfrut raises 20,000 euro for a firm in Amatrice severely hit by the earthquake

Cesena – Twenty thousand euro have been raised for a fruit and vegetable producer based in Amatrice. During the last edition of Macfrut, an appeal was made to businesses in the sector, which agreed to “lend a hand” to an agricultural firm seriously affected by the terrible earthquake that recently hit Central Italy.
The firm to be supported is that of Antonio Scialanga, based in Amatrice, a family business that he runs with his wife, which was severely damaged by the earthquake. It produces strawberries on an area of about one hectare and a half, with small fruits grown open field in a 3,500-metre area and, for next year, it has planned to install another 2,500 metres of greenhouses. It is a small agricultural firm with 14 co-workers that, from late May to November, grows high-quality produce thanks to high altitude cultivation.

The ceremony for the donation, which will be made directly to these young farmers, will take place on Thursday 1 December in Amatrice, to be attended by the managers of Cesena Fiera and the businesses in the sector who contributed.

As many as 30 businesses gave their financial support: Cesena Fiera, Alimos, Almaverde, Apofruit, Aweta, Cac, Cermac, Consorzio Funghi Treviso, Consorzio Kiwigold, Cpr System, Cso, Dole, Frigoriferi Industriali, Graziani, Idromeccanica Lucchini, Infia, Italia Ortofrutta, Linea Verde, Op Rosaria – Pannitteri, Opo Veneto, Ortogest – Azienda agricola Brunelli, Ortolano, Ortoromi, Pentaplast, Pro Stand, Rimini Fiera, San Lidiano, Sermac, Siropack, Sorma, Tramaco and Unitec.
