MACFRUT 2010, THE FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SECTOR FOCUSES ON AFRICA
( 13-06-10 )
Macfrut will turn the spotlight on the international fruit and vegetable sector from the 6th to the 8th of October 2010, the focus of the twenty-seventh edition will be the African continent.
Internationalization and how to overcome the crisis: these are going to be the “hot” subjects of the twenty-seventh edition of Macfrut, the international fair of the fruit and vegetable sector, which for the second consecutive year will be held in autumn, from Wednesday the 6th of October to Friday the 8th of October 2010 in the fair district of Cesena. Macfrut is the reference point in the sector for the countries of the Mediterranean area and not only for them, in the previous editions there was a cooperation with Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Spain and Russia and many delegations from these countries came to Cesena and created important business opportunities.
2010 will be the year of Africa. The internationalization process of the Cesena exhibition will focus on the countries of the Southern coast of the Mediterranean sea, both the Sub-Saharan markets and Central Africa, the new frontier for fruit and vegetable products “made in Italy”.
Macfrut will be a chance for professionals of the sector to be up to date and to have a feedback on the situation of the fruit and vegetable market in Italy and Europe, with the second edition of the European Fruit Summit. The conference will be held on the 5th of October, the day before the opening day of the exhibition, and will be attended by delegates coming from all over Europe.
The number of foreign participants seems to increase every year: in 2009 20% of the 21,500 professional participants and of the 700 exhibitors came from abroad and 70 foreign delegations took part in the event.
