2ND EUROPEAN FRUIT SUMMIT 5TH OF OCTOBER 2010 AT 14.00, CESENA - MACFRUT

THE EUROPEAN FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SECTOR MEETS IN OCTOBER AT THE MACFRUT FRUIT SUMMIT IN CESENA, ITALY, WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF OUTSTANDING SPEAKERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD

The Second fruit and vegetable Summit (www.fruitsummit.eu), organized by CSO and MACFRUT and sponsored by the Emilia Romagna region, confirms itself as one of the most important events of the year for the sector.

At the Summit the estimated data for each product will be presented briefly, such data will be commented by a panel of outstanding international businessmen. This will be a unique occasion to meet the international leaders, in order to discuss and focus on the trade problems of the fruit and vegetable sector.

At the second edition of the Summit, which will take place on the 5^th of October at MACFRUT, CSO will present the production estimates in Europe for the 2011 campaign of pears, apples, kiwis and citrus fruits, after a short introduction on the whole fruit sector.

Among the prestigious speakers who will comment on data and estimates for the future there will also be a Chinese importer, for the first time at a meeting of the fruit and vegetable sector, and outstanding company directors of international leading companies, such as Pink Lady or Zespri.

The audience will be made up of experts from all over the world, working at all levels of the production chain.

The success of the Italian initiative highlights the importance of the fruit and vegetable sector, which is experiencing a strong evolution throughout the world, and in which Italy plays a key role, with more than 11.4 billion euros of Gross Saleable Production (GSP), that is 28% of the whole national GSP for agriculture. The perfect venue for this yearly event is surely Macfrut, a highly specialized exhibition on the sector.

Italy confirms its key role even for all the activities linked to the fruit and vegetable sector, with leading companies at an international level in packaging, in the machinery sector and in the sector of technologies, which will be exhibited at Macfrut, the most important fair of the Mediterranean area on the whole fruit and vegetable sector.
