Macfrut at Rimini Wellness: 1,000 exhibitors goal

Our goal: more than 1,000 exhibitors and 40,000 participants

For the event of the fruit and vegetable sector, 100% of the spaces available in 2014 has already been booked. As of today, 2,000 overnight stays have been booked with the hospitality package.
Rimini – More than 1,000 exhibitors in a 33,000-square metre area. The 3.2 edition of Macfrut, which will be hosted for the first time at the Rimini Expo Centre (23-25 September 2015), is proving to be characterised by large figures. “Whereas last year, in this period, the spaces booked where just over 60% of the area available at Cesena Fiera, today, four months before the start of the event, we have already scored 100% of what was achieved in previous years,” said the President of Cesena Fiera, Renzo Piraccini, at the presentation of Macfrut at Rimini Wellness. He also added: “With this in mind, we can expect a turnout of about 40,000 participants, a significant increase compared to last year's edition, which reached about 25,000 participants."
These optimistic figures also arise from another fact: the high level of participation in the hospitality package offered by Macfrut to exhibitors (stand and overnight stay at a competitive price compared to other exhibition facilities), managed by the travel agency Manuzzi of Cesena. As of today, it has registered more than 2,000 overnight stays in accommodation facilities in Cesena and Rimini, with an expected increase of up to 6,000 overnight stays.
The commitments have therefore been met, as announced in December 2014 by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies in the presence of Minister Maurizio Martina during the first presentation of Macfrut. The next edition will be spread over six halls, including four dedicated to the post-harvest sector, and two halls for the pre-harvest sector (technical equipment, nurseries, greenhouse crops, producers of new varieties, etc). Altogether, there will be 11 exhibition sectors representing the entire fruit and vegetable supply chain.
“We will be hosting this event with great pleasure, since it highlights the ability of the Romagna region to implement a system,” said the Director of Business Unit of Rimini Fiera, Patrizia Cecchi.
The 3.2 edition will pay special attention to the innovation of technology and packaging, the sectors in which Italy stands out. Equal importance will be given to the internationalisation process, which, up to now, has involved five road shows in Eastern Europe together with UniCredit, in addition to the initiatives in Tunisia and in the Dominican Republic.
“UniCredit has decided to support the 2015 edition of the event not only as a sponsor but also as a strategic partner," says Leonardo Gregianin, Manager of Territorial Development and relations with Stakeholders at UniCredit Centro Nord, "because we believe that the future of export and the promotion of "Made in Italy" products are a key element for the development of productivity in the agri-food sector.” Macfrut is a real occasion where professionals in the fruit and vegetable sector can meet and discuss current issues at international level.
At the same time as Macfrut, Rimini will be hosting Flora Trade, the international trade fair dedicated to floriculture.
