At Fruit Logistica in Berlin to meet with the leading fruit and vegetable exporters of this South American country. Peru has confirmed its participation in the 2017 edition

Macfrut, a bridge between MAAP and Peru

Berlin – At the Fruit Logistica trade show, the management of the Mercato AgroAlimentare di Padova (MAAP) and of Macfrut met with a delegation of AGAP Perú, the Peruvian Association of Agrarian Producers Guilds. It was a strictly operational meeting with the main exporters of asparagus, grapes, avocados, tangerines, pomegranates, blueberries and mangoes. The meeting follows on from the contacts that took place during the last edition of Macfrut between MAAP and AGAP, as a kind of bridge between the Rimini and Berlin trade fairs with a focus on internationalisation.
Last year, agri-food exports from Peru increased by 7%, predominantly fruit and vegetables. This South American country is the world's largest exporter of asparagus, as well as one of the leading exporters of avocados, small fruits and mangoes. The USA and Germany are their main reference markets, yet there is a growing interest in Italy as a target market for Peru's produce, but also in importing packaging and innovative technologies, a field in which Italy is a world leader."
Peru, which was Macfrut's Partner Country last year, will also attend the 2017 edition, thus confirming the role of the trade fair as an international business hub. It will serve as a meeting point, as in Berlin, between the MAAP, Italy's leading fruit and vegetable market and exporter, and AGAP, which brings together some of Peru's major exporters.
The meeting at Fruit Logistica was attended by the Director of MAAP, Francesco Cera, the President of the Padua wholesalers group, Giancarlo Daniele, and the President of Macfrut, Renzo Piraccini.
