At Macfrut 2022, Acqua Campus will showcase cutting-edge technology for managing water resources and nutrients

Cesena (20 January 2022) – The solid partnership between Macfrut and Acqua Campus has been expanded and strengthened in preparation for the upcoming edition of the 2022 International trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector (4-6 May at the Rimini Expo Centre). Once again, cutting-edge field technology, which is able to offer an in-depth and tangible overview of the latest equipment available to the agricultural sector to ensure an efficient use of water, will be the focus of Macfrut’s dynamic area, which the organisers have decided to set up again in collaboration with ANBI (National Association of Land Reclamation) and the CER (Canale Emiliano Romagnolo). The latter will also design and manage the interactive stand.

New technologies are becoming essential for agricultural businesses as a means of supporting 4.0 agriculture, which is faced with the negative consequences of climate change that are becoming more and more frequent. In the dynamic area of the trade fair, Acqua Campus will showcase state-of-the-art solutions for making water and nutrients more efficient and agricultural activities more sustainable from both an economic and an environmental perspective. After receiving great feedback during the last edition, interconnected irrigation technologies (which benefit from the incentives set out in the Italian Budget Law - Tax credit) will be in the spotlight once again: water and soil monitoring sensors, weather stations, control units for automated planting systems, fertigation systems and frost protection systems. ANBI and CER will showcase the latest version of the tried and tested IRRIFRAME service: after 10 years of widespread use throughout Italy, it is now set to return with a new look and new functions. This irrigation service, which was developed in the Emilia-Romagna region and is currently offered nationwide, covering 7 million hectares, will be given a new lease of life in Rimini.

Nicola Dalmonte, President of the CER, says: ‘Irriframe has a completely new layout, which is now more user-friendly, with new functions that can be managed using integrated satellite maps, like an actual platform that manages incoming field monitoring data on the one hand and the automation functions of the irrigation system on the other hand.’
In a nutshell, with the new version of Irriframe, agricultural entrepreneurs will be able to manage their farms in a fully automated way. With the new APP, all functions can be managed using a smartphone. In the dynamic area of Macfrut, visitors will have the opportunity to try the new service offered by CER and ANBI, thanks to the participation of the experienced technicians of Acqua Campus, as well as the chance to see cutting-edge irrigation systems in operation.
